Halloween in Taylorsville

Tonight I was invited to do photography for the Taylorsville Halloween on Main Street event. There were about 2,000 children in costumes “trick or treating” and the weather held out nicely for us.

More Fall Colors

Happy Birthday Josh! For those who don’t know, that’s my brother and yep today is his birthday. Today I also felt like getting out and about a bit since having pneumonia. I went to Squire Boone Cavern to photograph the mill wheel in the fall colors. This area was not real colorful since they don’t have a variety of trees, but we did find some beautiful areas here and there. The mail pouch barn in Lanesville is pretty. We also visited the Kintner’s studio. Wow, my head is full of ideas now! Thanks John and Joyce!

Stray Dog

This adorable stray dog came to play with our dogs today, but I was worried he would get hit. We caught him and took him to our local vet office and they found him a home. He was so sweet but no collar and no micro chip

Benitez Wedding

Today, Jeremiah and I photographed the marriage of George and Diane at the Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach California. The venue was very elegant and Diane looked like a princess. The look on George’s face as his bride walked down the isle was priceless. They have a special bond that has kept them in each others life since high school and it was amazing to be able to experience such a rare and beautiful love. To add to the excitement and wonder, was the chance to catch up with all my band classmates from El Modena High School Band. There were five band members represented at the wedding from classes of 1982 thru 1986 and amazingly we each had earned the John Philip Sousa Award. Talk about a small world! Diane and George, I wish you the very best in your married lives together and thank you for allowing me to privilege of sharing your special day with you!

Ferrell Wedding

Today we celebrated the wedding of Tammy and Joe Ferrell in Riverside California. It was a nice ceremony followed by a lively Hawaiian Luau. It was wonderful to see friends and family I have not seen for a few years. Congratulations Tammy on finding such a wonderful man to share your life with!

In Memory

Today Jeremiah and I went to Riverside National Cemetery to put flowers and flags on my Grandfather and Grandmother, Edgar and Ruth Robbins, headstone and my Daddy’s, Thomas Rush. I did not realize Jeremiah had never been there since my Daddy’s headstone had arrived, so it was a very emotional day of closure for him.

Perryville Reenactment

Today we went to the Perryville Reenactment. This was the first time for any of us to go. It was interesting and LOUD. David did well considering his knee surgery was just two weeks go. We enjoyed the artisans and shops selling authentic wares.

Caelen’s 1st Pumpkin Patch Trip

Today we visited a small pumpkin patch to pick out Caelen’s pumpkin. He was not happy with the big inflated pumpkin or the scary statue near the cash registered, but did like watching the man paint the pumpkins.

Today was the first annual Taylorsville Progressive Dinner. It was a wonderful festive night of good music, good food, good conversation and photos at the court house.
