JDRF Taylorsville

Today was the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Carnival for a cure. Unfortunately weather did not cooperate a great deal and we were only about to fit in about two good hours between rain and heavy thunderstorms. Maybe next year weather will be a bit more cooperative.

Dave Huntsman and PPAGL

Tonight Dave Huntsman was the speaker for PPAGL. I know I have said this before, but if you ever get the chance to attend a class taught by Dave, you will NOT want to miss it. Every time I hear Dave speak I learn something new. I am super excited to have Dave scheduled to speak at the PhotoForum Camera Club May 26th.

Honoring Our Hometown Heroes & Thunder Over Louisville

Today I was invited to photograph our Hometown Heroes at Gheens Auditorium. While there I was presented with a beautiful Challenge Coin from Adjunctive General(2 Star General). Afterwards, those of us who helped with the honoring ceremony were invited to join the honorees and their families on the base flight line to get an up close and personal look at the aircraft to fly in Thunder Over Louisville. I spent most of the day there, watching the aircraft fly in and out before moving to a vantage point to see the fireworks over the Ohio River. Oh, yes, and did I mean I got royally burnt! Maybe next time I will remember my HAT!!!

Cove Springs Wildflowers & Castle Post

Today my mom and I visited Cove Springs to see the wildflowers, but apparently we are a bit early because there was not much to see. We also were allowed to photograph the inside of Castle Post, a castle in Versailles Kentucky, near Keenland. I have to admit, it was more impressive from the outside. Maybe because it was not in full swing, so the gardens were not complete and fountains not running. It also looked like they had some guests who enjoyed a rather wild party and they had not yet cleaned up. So, while I did take a few pictures, it was difficult to get nice shots without evidence of the visitors.

Formals And A Handsome Couple

Today, Jeremiah and his lovely date "L" attended her sorority house formal. They both looked really nice....it was nice to see my son dressed in a tux...

Weldon Flavorings

Today I had the pleasure of working with the folks at Weldon Flavorings on some of the product shots. I have to admit, I really like their coffee flavorings and the tea flavorings are quite good too.

Ahhhh-Chooooo!

Well those of you who have seen me, know I have been battling something. A few bouts of pneumonia, asthma, the works. Surprising I have not had anything like this since moving away from California. Turns out, after a visit to my new allergist, it has taken me a few years to develop an all new set of allergies. Welcome to the world of Kentucky Allergy Sufferers and the worst pollen year in over a decade!
